To save their daughter, the two created a pod and sent her to Earth where they knew the yellow sun would give her abilities beyond any mere human or other species known in the universe. She crash landed in Smallville, Kansas, and was found by Jonathan and Martha Kent and raised by them on Earth.
As the years went by, Kara learned how to use her abilities for good, and later the family moved their farm to Kansas City, Kansas, where Kara met her new best friend Tori Jacobs and the two spent a lot of time together. Kara even shared her secret being an alien refugee with her, and Tori shared her secret of being Gaia. The two had no secrets between them. But when Gaia was framed for killing the mayor and mysteriously disappeared, Kara knew she couldn't hide who she was any longer. It was time to reveal herself to the world.
