One more day (open)

[Asgard]

Ukume has been here for a few days now, scouting the city. During her earlier several visits to the city, where to enjoy a concert, an only cared about if the concert, and the luxury hotel that she was staying at. She did not really remember much of the city, despite that her last visit was only a few years ago.

Ukume was wearing ordinary human clothing, a pair of jeans, grey tshit, that was tailored just for her, and a pair of black running shoes. She however had a Wakandan armband on both of her left arms. She was so exposed, no because she was showing off, but because it was so natural for her to not hide at all. Her two tails gently swayed as she walked to one of her favorite restaurants withing the city. The restaurant was near the large indoor arena, and part of the luxury hotel. The master chef in her was actually so impressed with the restaurant that she already had plans to buy the restaurant from the hotel.

She was greated near the hotel by her two very trusted body guards... a Wakandan and an Asgardian body guards... both in orginary human clothing, but the Wakandan guard was also holding a spear. Ukume found this perfectly normal, as it was traditional for her. Both of the guards where female, and escorted Ukume to the hotel and the restaurant.

The restaurant also had a smaller outdoor area, witch made it even more attractive. Ukume walked to one of the tables and sat down, waiting patiently to be served. Very soon a waitress came over to her, and Ukume ordered her drinks... 3 large beers. both of the Royal Guard members sat at the nearest table... with one of them keeping an eye on the streets and one the entrance to the inddor part of the restaurant. After the waitress was done with ordering her drinks, her two Royal Guard members also ordered there own. Three large beers for the Asgardian and only one small beer for the Wakandan.

The outdoor area had sparse crowds at this time. Most attendees were inside enjoying the luxuries of the hotel or slowly making their way towards the restaurant as the day passed. There was value in eating during "off hours," because once you were done, the groups started showing up, and you got to miss most of the noise. That was Annalise's mindset. Less crowds meant less trouble or a chance for more trouble--it was 50/50. The opening of portals and ushering of new lifeforms did spell disaster in some places, and thus, she decided that eating outside was a safer bet these days.

Annalise had ordered a Mai-Tai, having finished her lunch, and sipped on it slowly whilst watching people come and go from the sidewalk, into the hotel, and into the outdoors dining area. It had been a relatively quiet afternoon thus far.

When three individuals walked in, Annalise did a double-take. Just when she thought she was getting used to new things, life proved her wrong. One of them was carrying a spear of all things, and another had two tails.

Don't stare, she thought to herself, and went back to her drink.

Annalise's phone beeped and she fished it out of her pocket. The woman hummed softly, swiped at the screen with her thumb, set her phone to vibrate, and put it away. Just then, the waitress came over, and she ordered another Mai-Tai. This place wasn't cheap with their drinks, but they were good.

Ukume was waiting patiently to hate her meal order taken, as there where a few other people already there, who strated at the trio as they sat down. A young female whispered to another person that was with her. " Wow... that is Ukume, the famous Chef... too bad that she is a freak, but i still think she is a great ass chef. " The woman whispered. Ukume glanced at her, and shook her head.

Of course... she was great, but she was a mutant... there was always a 'but'... no matter what she did... no matter how great she was... she was still 'just' a mutant in the eyes of many people. 

She also caught the stare of another female and Ukume could not help staring back just a little... the female was very pretty... making Ukume nod slightly towards the female. The female however, went and focused on her phone. Suddenly the waitress came back to take there meal order. Ukume ordered 2 onion soups, 3 steaks, 2 large Caesars salads, and 3 slices of apple pie to finish it off. The Waitress did not seem to surprised by the massive a mount of food that one person ordered, as Ukume has been to this restaurant a few times before and always ordered much more food that was another person would assume. This was due to her half Asgardian nature. 

The other Asgardian also ordered the same amount of food, while the Wakandan guard only ordered a steak and a small salad. The Asgardian Royal Guard member spoke. "My sole regret is that these mortals do not serve whole wild boar. " She grinned, also causing Ukume to grin widely. "Aye!... indeed that would be a sight. " She said. The Wakandan guard also spoke. "Or zebra... you made the best zebra that i ever ate in the Outside World and some of the finest i ever ate in Wakanda, and that is saying something." While she had a friendly tone, the Wakandan guard had a very serious and even somewhat scolding face.

Annalise nodded in return before her phone had distracted her. Why she chose to nod at her was beyond her. She had her doubts Ukume noticed any difference between her and the other humans that were moving in for an early lunch. Annalise quietly sipped her Mai-Tai as a woman nearby mentioned who the four-armed, two-tailed individual was and her eyebrow raised. She was famous? Annalise never heard of her, and she wasn't one to admire someone for their social status.

The woman hypothesized that she hadn't heard of the name, "Ukume" because she was not active on social media. Annalise did not have a Facebook, Pinterest, and so on, but she did have an Instagram account strictly for advertising her jewelry and an Etsy account to sell them off. All she did was post a new image, replied to questions, and left the application. The last thing she wanted was to be another tech-junkie like so many others. People learned things by word of mouth or newspapers in the past, and so, that was what she mostly did.

Annalise blinked incredulously at the trio's discussion about wild boar and zebra. Wild boar she could understand; but zebra? Now she imagined the three of them sitting in front of a large fire in the Savannah all alone in the night with a striped zebra leg rotating over the roaring flames. What did cooked zebra smell like? Did it taste gamey? She stared at her drink, exhaled slowly, and took another sip. Annalise would whip out her phone to figure out if tribes at zebras, but she could get to a computer later to find out.

Curious, she did listen into their conversations. What other strange things would they talk about?

Ukume smiled widely at the though of the zebra. "Oh, yes... a perfectly seasoned zebra with seasoned roasted grasshoppers... adding those two together was my invention... and it worked out... seeing as T'Chala loved it as well. " Ukume spoke with a happy smirk. She then smiled even wider... i have not actually seen a wild board being roasted, but as you can imagine it is like back on Asgard. " She said.

Soon the loads of food that they ordered arrived. The restaurant know that the trio ate a massive amount of food, that probably had it prepared in advance. As the waitresses that carried all the food left, the Wakandan guard, Besarta, spoke. " You two mind hurrying up a bit? You have to get there in two hours. " She said with a slight smirk. The Asgardian Guard, Astrid, broke out into a slight grin. " As you already know... even a few mortal meal is no match for us... luckily Ukume inherited those genes. " She said and a second later, she, like Ukume, started eating. Ukume however spoke after swallowing a few bites.

"Well... i am a child of two words... Wakanda and Asgard... but only a royal of Asgard... I still do not know about this city... it feels a little small for my taste, but it luckily has a nice large indoor arena and great hotels... sure, that is enught for me, but the city still feels kind of small... especially with so many others who arrived lately. " She shrugged slightly. " Do not forget... you are sort of a royalty for Wakanda as well. " Besarta said.

Royalty? Wakanda and Asgard? They sure were divulging a lot of pertinent information out in the open, and Annalise had never heard of "Wakanda" or "Asgard." Annalise's brow furrowed in confusion. Well, it's not like they had to be secretive about their social status given they were clearly capable of handling themselves. Anyone who tried to do harm most likely would not like the personal outcome. The woman hummed quietly to herself.

Annalise's eyes rounded when she saw how much food came their way. They certainly had an appetite, an uncanny one at that, much like herself when she had to pack in the extra energy. Annalise's mouth began to water at the thought of eating a full meal. She did have the entire table to herself...

"Have you considered adding some honey to roasted grasshoppers?" Annalise inquired out loud at the trio. "A little gives them a sweeter taste." She may not have tried zebra, but she was familiar with the crunch of grasshoppers. When it came to needing calories after injuries, anything sounded delicious. Turns out, grasshoppers weren't bad, and she wouldn't complain if she had a bowlful of them to snack on right now, especially if they were roasted in garlic and lime.

Ukume turned to the attractive female when she spoke an after thinking about what she said, she smiled a little at her. "Honey is a great seasoning, and it pairs great with grasshoppers... but not with zebra... but indeed, you are right that about that... have you visited culinary school, or traveled to Africa in the past? " Ukume said and then added. "It is also an outstanding source of energy... so i am assuming that you may be a sportsperson, as not many people pair such two things together and like it. " Ukume shrugged and then took the first mug of beer that was half empty already and finished it in one take.
