can i get your opinions? (open)

Hello! I'm hung up on what my first character should be and figured i'd post here and see what you guys think. Originally I was thinking of taking Shinta from Gaia's backstory and giving him(? not quite sure Shinta's a guys name, looked it up online, didn't get a clear answer) what I can only describe as Scott Pilgrim-esque powers, meaning their video-game based, mainly centering on fighting games and beat-em-ups, but in Shinta's case these powers would also center on RPGS (and a little bit of anime) in the respect that over time he would get stronger and would become proficient with certain weapons, but he'd be restricted in terms of weapons and armor by his chosen "class." 

Or I could go with my original concept, an amnesiac, edgelord, psychic assassin-turned-reluctant-hero simply called "Caine." At this point this guy is really more of a backup character and I may end up apping him later as a villain for the good guys to fight, mainly because I don't think I can pull off the edgelord thing, even as a parody kinda deal, and I'm a bit more biased towards Shinta cause I recently watched Scott Pilgrim vs. The World and the aesthetics of the fights absolutely blew me away, so I really want to make that kinda character. 


But enough of my dumb rambling! What do you guys think? Anime Scott Pilgrim or edgelord psychic?

Shinta is a male the same age as Gaia with a younger sister named June and looks like a female because he has long black hair, and he doesn't have any powers yet. Spoiler, but he's a demigod too from Ares's bloodline and later on he'll develop powers so you may want to consider someone else for your Anime Scott Pilgrim. So I go with the second choice.

Shinta's also gay.
