No, nope, uh-uh, noperino! Grounder refused. Ground was in his name and finding himself hurtling through the air left him horrified and helpless.
"HYEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRGH!" His tortured screams growing more and more distant as he was launched skyward. In a panic he began rapidly trying to find some form of gadget to help himself, his systems racing to find some form of parachute, propeller, air-bag for the landing, anything! His trajectory suddenly changed as he tried to put his rockets away and fire them at the same time, blowing his own arm to pieces and hurtling himself off course, his other arm suddenly popping open and a hang glider folding out quickly, sending him racing away on the wind currents with minimal control.
The stone slab broke apart into rubble, Shannon bursting free with her whole body reshaped into a jackhammer. Her face remained on the main body of the power tool, which turned to Gaia with a triumphant sneer.
"I'm all jacked up and ready to rumble, twerp!" The fittingly hazard orange construction equipment charged, loudly ripping up the concrete as it moved to bowl Gaia over.

"That's cliche as well get out."
Gaia hoisted herself up into the air on a platform of earth and flew over the chunks of concrete Shannon sent flying at her, and flew over her as well before shooting out vines from both her hands to tie the robot up, hardening the vines so it would be harder for her to break free.
"Just take a chill pill already!"

Shannon was grabbed by the vines and restrained, finding herself unable to transform and squirming aggressively. Normally, this was the end of her, she'd get thrown down onto the ground or hurled away at high speeds, smashed into oblivion.
"Hey, you telling me to go against my programming?" She sounded almost indignant in her response. The vines held her in place, the chisel-head of her jackahmmer form now just uselessly kicking into empty air.
"I'm a villain, it's kinda what I do. You know, fight heroes, commit crimes, revel in chaos, that sorta thing?" Her snark capacitors were only at 50% but her tone was suitably sarcastic as she squirmed and struggled against her restraints.

Go against her programming? That's it! All she had to do was reprogram her, but Gaia wasn't good at robotics, but June might be able to do something if she was just able to get the robot to her. Gaia landed down on the ground again and kept the vines in hand just to keep a tightened grip on them as she was trapped in place.
"Yeah, well, right now you're all tied up, and I think we should go for a little ride."
Gaia hoisted up the ground beneath both her and Shannon's feet and started to fly through the air with Shannon as a passenger. One hand on the vines, and the other hand on the side of the earthen materials to steer it. She was going to take the robot to June and end this madness once and for all.

Shannon struggled at first, wanting to continue the conflict and trying to transform herself back into her original form, but to no avail. This day had sucked, her new minion was awful, she was trapped in a parallel reality far from home, and she just lost her first big fight in this new world.
And now they're flying, what the heck? "Hey, what's the big idea?!" Shannon was indignant, still squirming and struggling despite the ground vanishing beneath her. "Where are you taking me? Cut it out!" Her current form was certainly not designed to escape those vines, and despite her struggles she remained bound and restrained.

"Quit squirming, you'll see in a minute."
Gaia flew to her neighborhood and stopped on the first duplex on her avenue that was across the round street from her own. Coming up to the window where one of her best friends, June Greenaway, resided. Knocking on the window to get her attention as a fourteen year old girl with long brown hair and brown eyes answered the window.
"What are you doing here?" asked June.
"I need your help with something."
Gaia entered the room with Shannon and let her down on the floor in-between the bed and the desktop computer.
"What is it?"
"A robot, and I need you to reprogram it so it will be good."
"What? I never reprogrammed a robot before."
"If anyone can do it, it's you."
June grumbled underneath her breath and began to inspect the robot, Shannon, and see if she could find anywhere her systems may be to try to reprogram her while Gaia watched on and kept a tight grip on the vines in case Shannon tried to break free again.

Still trapped in her jackhammer form, there wasn't much Shannon could do to escape. She struggled as best as she could, her internal components whining and straining against the vine restraints. Then she heard the word "Reprogram."
The vines burst.
In a screaming panic, Shannon returned to her humanoid form. "NO! NOOOOO!" She made a break for the door, pure terror in her mechanical soul. She would not let them do this to her, she could not.

June fell back on the bed when Shannon made a run for it. Gaia shot out a vine to cover the door to keep her from getting out before shooting out another vine to wrap around the robot's waist and pull her back towards June and herself.
"Where do you think you're going?"

"No! Nooo! No-nonononononononono..." Shannon, in her panic, turned one of her hands into a pair of pruning shears, desperately trying to clip at the vines as she was dragged back down the stairs, screaming in terror. Her core programming was going to be changed, she was going to be scrambled, this was a nightmare come true, an execution.
"R-RAYMOND! DADDY! MIKAELA! GROUNDER!" She hollered and screamed in terror, crying out for someone, anyone to come and save her. "RADICLES! JETHRO! AAAANYOOOOOONE!" Kicking and screaming, she was pulled back down into the room by the vines.

Gaia was really starting to struggle to hold the machine down. She almost felt bad for it, but she knew it was for the benefit of everyone in Kansas City to turn this bad robot good.
"June, if you're going to do your magic now is the time to do it!"
"You think I can work under these conditions?"
"Now, June!"
"Oh, all right!"
June began to look over Shannon and found a hatch and opened it, and started screwing around with wiring really beyond her study to find what worked best. June had no idea what she was doing, but since when has that stopped her?

Shannon twitched and shuddered, her body spasming as her internal components were assaulted. She groaned and cried out, this amateur monkeying around in her wiring and shorting out her systems. It looked as though she'd wind up broken beyond repair at this point, at least beyond repair by those of this time period...
However, through some stroke of genius, June was able to find a USB port within her head, though she did so after rendering Shannon inoperable, shutting her down through hastily tugging away at wires. She lay limp, disconnected from her own body and her mind trapped within the quantum-computing processor banks that made up her brain, a brain that June had just found a way into with the discovery of that USB port.

June gave Tori a look that said it all.
"You are so lucky there's a USB port."
"You telling me?"
June grabbed some wiring that would have worked with the USB port and plugged her computer into the brain to try to figure out the machine's programming through her hard drive. Typing away at the computer's keyboard while still learning about the inner working of her brain.
